Club shoot tomorrow & info
Dear all
We’re shooting a Worcester Round tomorrow at the hall then that’s it until the New Year.
Get there for about 2.15pm or soon after so we can start shooting at 2.30pm.
It’s the start of the new Grand Prix season, let’s make a concerted effort to get the trophy out of Dave’s hands!
What’s a Worcester round I hear you cry……….
Its shot on one of these faces, or a fancy 5 spot one if you only want the 5 & 4 ring. The white bit scores 5, then 4, 3, 2, & 1.
We shoot 60 arrows in ends of 5 arrows.
Its the same distance as a Portsmouth Round (20 yards).
There are Grand Prix points available and it will also count towards your indoor classification. Scores required for classifications are:
Gent Senior and Junior Recurve

Wednesday 1st January
Saturday – 4th January – 14:30 – 17:00 – Indoor Session – Postal Shoot – Portsmouth Round.
The field is available over the Christmas period. For anyone shooting please remember to drop the "Archery in Progress" sign and make sure we’re all locked up if you’re the last to leave.
Make use of the WhatsApp Group to let members know the field is open (unless of course you’ve had enough of being sociable over Christmas and want some quiet time 🙂 ).
Have a very Merry Christmas.

Club shoot on Saturday – WA18, be ready to shoot at 2.30pm
Hi all
It’s a club shoot on Saturday, we’re shooting a WA18.
For the uninitiated a WA18 is:
- 60 arrows shot in ends of 3 (just like a Portsmouth round)
- shot, surprisingly, over 18 metres
- 40cm target faces (the little ones)
- you can shoot either a 10 zone face or the triple spot that has only 10 – 6 scoring zones
The shoot counts towards your indoor classification and the club Grand Prix.
Classification scores are:

There is county coaching and development session on Saturday so bosses will be set-up and we’ll just need to Face-Up.
We will be starting the round at 2.30pm prompt so please be ready to shoot, with your kit set-up and name on a scoreboard at 2.30pm.
If you would rather work on your form or just come along for a Saturday afternoon ping please do so. Just fit in with the shooting line.
I know those little faces can look a bit daunting but give it a go. If you haven’t shot one before it will be a personal best!
See you on Saturday.
Shoot straight.

Wednesday 13 November – session cancelled
REMINDER – No Session on Wednesday 13 November
Dear all
We have had a message from the Alameda Middle School that administers the hall:
I’m afraid that I have to ask you to cancel your session on Wednesday 13th November, as the school needs the sports hall for an open evening event. This event will run from 6pm onwards, until 8.30 or 9pm. The date has been moved for reasons outside my control. Please accept my apologies for the short notice, and for the inconvenience to your members.
All other sessions will run as normal.
John
