A respectful archer…
  • Does not talk in a loud voice whilst others are shooting.
  • Does not talk to another competitor who obviously prefers to be silent.
  • Does not make any exclamation on the shooting line which might disconcert a neighbour in the act of shooting.
  • Does not go behind the target to retrieve his/her arrows before their score has been recorded.
  • Does not walk up and down the shooting line comparing scores.
  • Does not touch anyone else’s equipment without permission.
  • Does not leave litter.
  • If a member breaks another’s arrow through their own carelessness they should offer to pay for it or replace it.
  • Thanks the target captain at the end of each round for work on his behalf
  • Most challenge trophies awarded are valuable and irreplaceable. The holder is responsible for them whilst in their possession and for their return at the appropriate time in a clean and good condition for presentation. It is also customary to have the trophy engraved as appropriate, if it is a team trophy then the club will pay to have it engraved.
