Development Course: Welcome to 2008 outdoor season. For those members who did not receive my e-mail regarding a new set of sessions of the development course please e-mail me if you are interested using the link below. I have not set any dates yet and need to point out that these sessions are aimed at archers who have completed the beginners courses in the last twelve months.

Equipment Tuning: Recently it has been bought to my attention that a number of you have bought equipment  that has not been set up correctly. As you will no doubt be aware, the outdoor season means that you will be shooting longer distances where archer and bow need to work in harmony. If you are interested in having your equipment tuned, checked or both contact me using the e-mail address below.

Please specify the nature of your enquiry and if you are interested in the tuning please specify the type of bow you use i.e. compound, recurve etc.

Spaces will be limited and will be decided on a first come, first serve basis.

E-mail: development@clophillac.co.uk
to check for availability

Please do not forget that you are required to pay £10 to cover the costs of the six sessions.
You will also require the following equipment at various times throughout the course.

Clophill Archery Club Development Program

 Dear members

I have put together a development course to give less experienced archers a chance to start enjoying the fruits of their labour.

It is my hope that in the coming months we as a club will be able to offer you a program of training to enable you to compete at a level which best suits your abilities.

With the co-operation of a number of our experienced archers I am able to offer each of you the opportunity to better your archery, to achieve a level of understanding of the sport, to give you the confidence to make your own decisions and most importantly to get more satisfaction from your achievements.

What qualifies me to be able to offer this level of expertise?

Absolutely nothing at all is the short answer, but please ask somebody who has done the course whether or not they gained anything from it.

How do I manage to do this?

Using the resources that are around me.

What are these resources?

The senior members within the club with the experience of not only being archers but parents too. Unlike a lot of clubs where helping competitors is frowned upon, Clophill members are more than willing to help anyone within the club that wants to learn.

What can I expect to learn?

  • How to maintain your equipment.
  • How to assess your performance.
  • Analyzing your shots.
  • How to behave in competition (etiquette).
  • How to score your arrows.
  • Keeping records of your achievements.
  • Improving your technique

What will I get out of it?

You will get out as much or as little as you put into it. All that I require from you is the promise that you will listen to the people that are trying to help you, act on the advice that you have been given and most importantly enjoy your sport.
